Wrongfully convicted Oregonians will now be eligible for financial compensation for time of false imprisonment.
…
The act will pay $65,000 for each year of wrongful conviction and $25,000 per year of parole and supervision and each year an individual was wrongfully put on the sex offender registry.
I think they also need to do more to help people who were maliciously prosecuted! There should be consequences for DA’s and Judges doing whatever they like. They act like God determining to course of people’s entire lives. And they just aren’t really accountable to anyone. If they are, then it is almost impossible to prove judicial misconduct with the immunity they have. It’s this accountability issue which has led to the entire courtroom procedure becoming about convictions and not justice.
Why pay people for wrongfully putting them on the registry? After all, it isn’t punishment in any way right? Surely its no different than having your picture in your High School yearbook………
Well sink your teeth in to this! The tax payers money. That pays all those law making fools and the DA and all judges. Those people should have to pay!! The old lie.. Of sticks and stones can hurt me. But words can never harm me. Is a huge huge lie. Words do put people behind bars. With no proof!!!! That man or women touched my kid. I was at party getting drunk and i was raped. So and so did it. Oh but the so called victim only need words to put you behind bars. Nothing but WORDS!!!!! No DNA just you did it… Yes im pissed at you. So i can make up lies that you cant fight.
Here is a case of child protection agent for ya. Looks like the trainee outed the training agent for falsifying contact reports.

And there we are. Another price point being applied to the registry. In Oregon, the cost of being on the sex [offense] registry is $25 THOUSAND dollars A YEAR.
